Cyber bullying

As we get more advanced on the internet and start to do all of our communication with another on the internet it gives people the ability to "hide" as they bully someone. Cyber bullying is when someone harasses another person online through social networks, emails, etc. it has become a huge problem because now that everyone resorts to doing everything online it includes bashing someone and bullying them not only surfing the web and checking twitter. It is sad that it took a girl too take her life for schools to take is seriously and now schools are starting to watch their students online and try to manage the bullying/stalking of other students. This is a huge problem that is only getting bigger and hopefully we can find a way to put a stop to it.

AI and Robotics

With the way technology is advancing we are looking for new ways every single day to make use of technology and try to make our everyday life as simple as possible. Robots becoming the main work force of this country will happen eventually but are we ready for that to happen right now? I'm not sure because we still have a lot of questions about the present technology that we are using. Robots will be able to do what humans do but to a certain point there are certain thing that we do that just can not be duplicated into a robot. In the article "When Robots kill" there is a valid point about who the blame goes on because no matter how advanced the robots get at the end of the day they were made by humans and humans make mistakes so then if the robot makes a mistake who gets the blame? I can't see a way we can blame the robots because they are programmed into doing what we tell them to but then do we blame who made them, who asked for them to be made, or who is using them? Only time will tell on how we will handle this but until then we try to build the robots who will eventually replace us if we depend on them for to much.

World Wide Web

The World Wide Web in the future will be something we can't think about now but if you look in just the last few years in how it has taken over and replaced a lot of things that now can be done on the web. Clouds allows people to save data of all sort on the internet and to be honest I'm not sure how it exactly works or anything about it  but when companies are going after the market then there has to be a lot of opportunity in the the cloud business and getting people to trust online storage and have people use it instead of your rivals.  It is intriguing on how much potential there is in the web an everything it has done already and the direction it is headed in. All of us are guilty of using the web to help us with assignments or anything else you can think of. The web is always going to be there and it's improvements are helping us day by day and we can only wait to see where it takes us.

Networks and Communication

In the beginning of the new technology phase the best way to keep in touch with one another was to email but with technology improving as fast as it has it is changing communication on every level. I believe that the text messaging is still the most used form of communitcation but it is alwas improving on a daily basis. It has taken over all forms off communication because of how fast and relieable it has been to communicate through email, skype, IM, etc. Skyping for class, emailing students, filling applications online, buying things online, messaging companies for help instead of being on the phone for an hour are ways the communication has improved and it is getting even better to the point people are less and less likely to use phone and instead communicate through the internet.

Intro to me

My name is John and i created this blog for class that introduces us to the world of technology especially with the internet and how social media is used to communicate with one another and people we do not even know.

Using social media websites really helps class because some people are better expressing themselves with words and on the internet and not in the classroom. There is also a broader range of information on the web and when you put all these together i feel it is easier to explain yourself and it gives people to see a side of you they might not which allows more than one voice to be heard which how classrooms can be like.
